“The Hurtin’ Side” is the latest single from Ngajuana, featuring the Freedom Writers’ Adam Bomb. The track was produced by Rugged One.

This song was created to bring attention to Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, also known as PTSD; which a large number of soldiers returning from conflicts suffer from. Ngajuana takes on a narrative role, for this record, telling the story of a veteran struggling with the effects of PTSD, after coming home and how his day to day life is a challenge. Adam Bomb retells this story but in the role of the veteran’s perspective.

This song, along with the completed version of the demo release, “Peace”, will be part of a Shad + Skratch Bastid collaborative EP entitled The Spring Up to be released online before month’s end; a breezy, soulful collection completed shortly after the pair wrapped up work on Shad’s upcoming full-length, Flying Colours. In addition to the Cadence Weapon guest spot, the EP will feature a production assist from Bastid’s most recent touring partner, DJ Jazzy Jeff.

Task and Moniker release Elegant Tux

Elegant Tux is a collaborative album released by London’s Lost Moniker and Pennsylvania producer Task The Samsara back in September.

Elegant Tux focuses on classy boom bap, audacious punchlines and deep self reflection all backed by fitting production. The album details someone who tries to find confidence but ultimately has to find themselves in the process. Sounds corny as fuck I know, but trust me, if you like a sound that’s unlike anything you’ve heard before, yet so familiar, then Task and Moniker definitely deliver something fresh to the hip hop table.
